The Accessible Aquarium Project, under the leadership of Georgia Tech, aimsto engage visitors with blindness or vision loss in the venue's manyexhibits. In depth research is being conducted on motion, tracking, music,and narrations with a goal to convey the dynamic nature of a tourismdestination such as the Georgia Aquarium. These alternative means of representing a tour draw on other senses and seekto enhance the holistic elements of an aquarium, zoo, museum, or outdoortourism zone. This project is part of an overarching initiative to advanceAtlanta and Georgia's accessibility for the disabled population,particularly in the areas of travel and tourism. On June 15, the Georgia Alliance for Accessible Technologies InitiativeGAAT of the United Nation's Global Initiative for Inclusive Informationand Communication Technologies G3ict held a meeting at the offices of theInterContinental Hotels Group IHG. This seminar of presentations and dialogue focused on the progress of GAAT'soverall work and allowed members of the group to share updates about theirrecent endeavors related to establishing Georgia as an accessibledestination for the disabled.

’ Dozens of police departments around the country have partnered with Ring, but until now, the exact terms of these partnerships have remained unknown. ”“During that presentation the law enforcement program was mentioned, but it was not yet operational. As I understood it then, the plan was to allow a police department access to the videos that were being shared by Ring product owners through the Ring Neighbor’s App where Ring product owners can opt in to share their videos to other Ring owners in a certain geographical area around their location. I told the representative I worked with to set up the presentation to contact me with more information about the law enforcement program when it was operational. Ring was then sold by its creator to Amazon in 2018 and the representative I had worked with no longer worked with the company. ”“We do find home surveillance cameras to be very helpful when we are investigating cases,” she said. “We regularly canvas around locations where incidents have occurred to ask if homeowners have cameras. We are often provided with video footage from these types of systems. We also see the footage being shared on neighborhood social media platforms and see residents asking neighbors to check their cameras after something has happened. We see footage from Ring, Arlo, Nest and cameras installed by the homeowners or their alarm companies. We would not enter into any agreements requiring endorsement of a particular company.

When I attempted to directly contact this local office manager in order to determine the exact equipment model to purchase, I left three voicemails, none of which were returned. I exchanged an email with someone at ADT corporate, presumably about the frustrating situation, but when I inquired about HOW to get the local office manager to call me back, she also stopped responding I tried sending the email twice. When I tried calling the customer service supervisor who originally gave me a statement credit and advised me about the local office manager’s recommendation, that call also went unreturned. At the end of the day, I believe that ADT wants to provide a good product and customer service, however, communication system is disjointed, broken and ineffective. The most disappointing thing is the fact that three different parties in different parts of their organization have gone completely cold in response to my attempts to determine how to fix my problem. I can only assume that they are completely incapable of addressing situations that are outside of the norm, especially when the issue is something that they should have informed me about before the equipment was installed.
